To create excitement and content for Expo in 2025, it is essential to seek counsel in areas of expertise; tap into the resource of connections and seek guidance and support for each event in the programme.

The aim of Your Future Expo is to bring together the educators and employers of the future to stimulate interest locally in the new wave of industries investing in the region and to promote the future skills needed in the green economy.

Our first advisory group was created in December 2023, bringing together more than 30 local businesspeople and educationalists from organisations including Tombola, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, Nissan and Vantec, to focus on how Expo Sunderland can showcase the high-quality careers available in the city as well as pathways to opportunities, as Sunderland transforms and in a new way. 

Groups explored education and employment challenges and how they can support residents to access new and emerging careers in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automotive design, animation and graphics, biotechnology, healthcare and science, Esports, and film lighting and production.
