Industry Zones - inspiring career paths

The exhibition hall will be split into zones and organised by industry or educational experts from our Event Advisory Board.

The Event Advisory Board includes more than 30 local business people and educationalists from organisations including Tombola, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, Nissan and Vantec, to focus on how Expo Sunderland can showcase the high-quality careers available in the city as well as pathways to opportunities, as Sunderland transforms and in a new way.

Housing Innovation

HICSA, in Sheepfolds, is being developed in partnership with Sunderland City Council, Sunderland College and MOBIE, and will provide education, training and skills to allow local people to develop sustainable homes.  It will become the learning place of hundreds of young people each year.

Architect and TV Presenter George Clarke founded MOBIE in 2017 to inspire young people to revolutionise the way we think about homes. We need younger generations to define how they want to live now and in the future, and MOBIE helps them do it.

Young people are vital to the future of housing and we need them to play a major role in shaping the future of our homes and communities.
