Bio

Jeremy Oury is a French artist who questions our perception of reality and our relationship to the digital environment through light, sound and space. He focuses his artwork on research of illusions of geometric distortions, the synesthesia between sound and video, and immersive forms in order to place the viewer at the center of a minimalist virtual universe to disrupt the perception of space.

He specializes in immersive formats such as cave, 360° and fulldome, and his groundbreaking work has been recognized and exhibited at prestigious digital festivals and exhibitions worldwide including MUTEK MX 2022, Mapping festival 2024, 2023 and 2021, ISEA 2019, FILE festival, +CODE, Domo Lleno, and MADATAC, amongst many more.

His artworks have won numerous awards at international video mapping festivals, such as FIMG 2015, Luz y Vanguardias 2017, Skopje 2019, and Video mapping festival 2023, and fulldome festivals including HIFF 2022, Macon 2019, and Fulldome festival Jena 2018.

Synopsis

This powerful experience transports you to a future where humanity has irreversibly transformed its environment. It offers a contemplative predictive vision of what awaits us if we don't profoundly change our lifestyles. The idea is to present a silent witness to this transformation, based on material learned by artificial intelligence, a captivating exploration of our destiny through devastated landscapes that anchor these generated scenes in an almost recognizable near-future.  As we are in an urgent global crisis, NEXT, with the concept of Anthropocene, is a message and reflection of ongoing issues, that also represents hope - through the dancing bodies of a new generation ready to fight and preserve our natural and architectural heritage
