Bio
Simon Rydén, also known as supermarket_sallad, is a multimedia artist based in Malmö, Sweden. Simon explores generative practices mainly through digital visual art while also working with light, scenography, and sound.
With an interest in movement, Simon likes to make work that balances between the organic and the artificial. He is inspired by ambient music, stories, and the flow of thoughts and feelings, which he translates into immersive and meditative artworks. His creations invite audiences to experience subtle, evolving changes, mirroring the movement that inspires him.
Simon has a background in performing arts and has worked as a dancer and choreographer. Educated at the Juilliard School in New York, he further studied generative and interdisciplinary practices during his master studies at the Department of Performing Arts at Stockholms Konstnärliga Högskola.
Simon's work has been exhibited internationally at LOAD Gallery in Barcelona and Studio20 in Berlin amongst more, and he has made visuals for artists such as Cassian and The Blue Man Group. Simon also creates art and tutorials, developing and sharing generative techniques and practices, on Youtube and Patreon under the name supermarket_sallad.
