Synopsis

A topic-driven forum that brought together leaders who champion innovation, stimulate growth, challenge and share best practice in building the cities of our future.

We explored how Sunderland City Council, local stakeholders, industry partners, regional and national government are working together to deliver social and economic growth and inspire future generations.

This was an invitation only event. The agenda and forum blog are below.

Agenda

This was a two-day event hosted by Sunderland City Council and chaired by BBC News Home Editor Mark Easton who led panel discussions with expert speakers after a morning opening session and keynote.

Invited delegates sat in a workshop format with a facilitator to optimise active participation, collaboration, actions and outcomes.

Fringe event Common Good

From high street to my street: bringing urban dwellers back to town centres.
Thursday 19 October 18:00 - 20:00 at Pop Recs, Sunniside, with a short walking tour starting at 17.15. 

A fringe event from Common Good. Hear from practitioners working in inner urban neighbourhoods in Sunderland, Birkenhead and Aberdeen on growing urban communities and revitalising town centres and high streets by encouraging more people to live in and around them.
