Welcome to the Expo for inspo

Future Home promotes sustainable home design, building, interiors, technology and community life through its show homes and gardens in the award-winning Vaux neighbourhood at Riverside Sunderland.

Designed to support 21st-century living patterns, homes are built using Modern Methods of Construction, a range of sustainable and low-carbon technologies (including Passivhaus), and renewable energy, all of which will contribute to Sunderland’s commitment to become carbon neutral by 2040.

Visitors to Future Homes can expect first-hand immersion in the best of British design: concept homes from winners of the Government’s Home of 2030 competition (run by Homes England in partnership with BRE, Design Council, MOBIE and RIBA), while trade and consumer events explore the knowledge, products and services that bring advanced, smart, green building to life.

Concept homes from the winners of the Government’s Homes of 2030 competition. Affordable, energy-efficient, shared-use homes with adaptability and recyclability at the heart of their design.

Take over an Expo Home or Garden

We will shortly be launching the opportunity for sponsors to "Take Over a Home or Garden" with the ability to showcase innovation, creativity, and community spirit in one of the homes currently being built at the Vaux Neighbourhood, Riverside, Sunderland.

Our sponsors can transform a specific property or garden space into something extraordinary. This could be through unique art installations, sustainable design concepts, or immersive interactive experiences. We encourage creativity and ideas that would bring a fresh perspective to inspire our 45,000+ visitors.
We highly value the diversity of participants and entrants will have the chance to showcase their work to a wide audience, connect with designers and makers, and be part of an exciting and dynamic visitor attraction that promotes the best of our local and international talents.
